This dessert is a rich textured orange cake saturated with a sauce when it is hot out of the oven. Topped with whipped cream, it is a slice of heaven. |

STIR in 1 egg GRIND 1 cup raisins and one whole orange ( in food processor) and ADD to butter sugar mixture SIFT 2 cups flour, 1 TSP bakng soda, and 1/2 TSP salt MAKE one cup sour milk (1 TSP vinegar added to a cup of milk) and alternately ADD milk and flour mixture to orange/butter/sugar mixture LINE loaf pan with wax paper and fill with batter BAKE at 325 degrees for one hour MAKE sauce of 1/2 cup sugar dissolved in 1/2 cup orange juice POUR sauce over orange loaf when it comes out of oven TURN out on board when juice has been absorbed SLICE and serve with whipped cream SERVES ten |
